Deborah A. TerryPresident
Deborah Terry is president of The Nash Group, a leading healthcare advisory and consulting group. She brings more than 30 years of nursing, human resources and consulting know-how and experience to support the company’s operations and clients. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing & psychology from Elmhurst College, and a master’s degree in nursing and healthcare business administration from Xavier University. She has also earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. In addition to her consulting work, Deborah is a member of Lewis University’s Healthcare Leadership Advisory Board, and was appointed to the editorial board of Issues in Health Care Law, Ethics and Regulation. She also served as a grant advisory board member for the Johnson & Johnson Promise of Nursing for Illinois Foundation. Deborah is active in the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration and the Society for Human Resource Management. She is a frequent guest lecturer at Northwestern University in Chicago, has published several articles, including “Effective Employee Relations in Reengineered Organizations” in the Journal of Nursing Administration. In 2012, she was voted Who’s Who in America Entrepreneur of the Year.
David Ledersnaider, Ph.D.Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ledersnaider is the chief executive officer of The Nash Group. With more than 30 years of professional practice as both an educator and consultant, he specializes in operations redesign, information technology deployment and strategic cost management in the healthcare industry. Dr. Ledersnaider has extensive experience in the conception and implementation of hospital-wide re-engineering methods, quality and lean processes, information technology and operational improvement efforts. Prior to his work with The Nash Group, Dr. Ledersnaider was senior administrative director for an 800-bed medical center, where he functioned as chief operating officer with responsibility for all operational improvement activities, the pathology and laboratory medicine division, and equipment processing, distribution and patient escort departments. He also served in the positions of senior director of operational improvement for a 450-bed hospital, internal planning and operational consultant for a 900-bed university medical center, and professor and undergraduate program coordinator of the industrial engineering department at the University de Los Andes, Colombia. Dr. Ledersnaider holds a Ph.D. in industrial & operations engineering and a master’s degree in applied statistics from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor; a Master of Science in operational research from the University of Southampton – England; and a bachelor’s degree of engineering from the University de Los Andes - Colombia. He is an active member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the Society for Health Systems and the American Society for Quality. Dr. Ledersnaider speaks frequently throughout the U.S. and South America on health care, information technology and operational topics; and has written many articles and case studies on hospital operations, patient care workloads, placement and aggregation, staffing plans and top quartile scheduling, economic sizing workload models and simulations, and cost effectiveness healthcare operations.
Kerry Abbott, RN, MSNVice President and Senior Consultant
Kerry Abbott, RN, MSN is vice president and senior consultant for The Nash Group. She is an accomplished healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience in progressive and diversified operational leadership in the acute care hospital setting. Kerry has a reputation for successfully leading transitions and managing complex change in challenging environments for nursing services. As a consultant, she brings clients extensive experience in strategy development, project management, consensus building, and mentoring of healthcare professionals; and has a track record of success in helping organizations achieve operational and financial goals while maintaining patient safety and clinical quality performance. Kerry holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University and master’s degree in nursing from DePaul University. She is active in the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Shawn Semedalas, RN, BSNVice President and Senior Consultant
Shawn Semedalas, RN, BSN is a vice president and senior consultant for The Nash Group. With over 25 years of nursing and healthcare management experience, she is focused on improving hospital operations and staff management. Her ability to analyze operational processes and performance produces deep insights for recommendations that influence hospital-wide decisions and goals. Shawn has been actively involved in operational redesign, addressing core scheduling needs and strategic cost management initiatives. She is an experienced cardiovascular nurse manager, having served as director of the largest cardiac center in the state of Illinois. Shawn holds a BSN from Lewis University and is a Certified Analytics Professional from Advance Solutions, int. She is active in the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
John TerrySenior Client Support
John has been with The Nash Group since 2005 as an installation quality assessor and senior client systems deployment and support associate. He is also responsible for the Nash AnalyticsTM rollout to new customers, as well as upgrades and maintenance to existing systems. Prior to joining The Nash Group, John was a systems officer for over 15 years at two international banks in Chicago, and own and operated a construction company for over 20 years. John holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Roosevelt University in Chicago and is a Certified Analytics Professional from Advance Solutions, int.
Diane LooneyAdministrative and Logistic Coordinator
Diane Looney has been with The Nash Group for over 15 years performing multifaceted project support and logistics. She coordinates client activities including communications, meeting, travel schedules and project invoicing. Diane has over 30 years of experience as an administrative assistant and human resource coordinator. She worked for over 15 years at an 800-bed medical center, where she functioned as an executive assistant and HR coordinator. She also worked for Moraine Valley Community College as an administrative assistant. Diane holds an administrative degree from Moser Professional Business School in Chicago, IL and a Microsoft Office specialist certificate from Moraine Valley Community College.
Ronald Finkelstein MBATechnology and Application Service Director
Ronald Finkelstein is application service director for The Nash Group, where he leads software development and network administration. Ronald has over 15 year of comprehensive experience in information technology consulting, internet design, software programming, deployment and implementation. He has also worked in sales and international trade of electronic hardware. Ronald holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minor in business administration from the University de Los Andes - Colombia and, an MBA with focus on finance and marketing from Keller Graduate School of business. As a part of The Nash Group team, he is responsible for technology and platforms deployment and selection, software development and architecture, including quality and reliability testing of all software business and analytics tools.
Shannon Landrum, RNConsultant
Shannon Landrum, RN is a consultant for The Nash Group. She is an accomplished nurse manager with strong leadership skills. Shannon has in-depth knowledge of hospital operations including staffing, bed placement and effective team leadership. Her clinical management work gives her a unique understanding and perspective on how each hospital service area operates and interacts. As a consultant, she brings to the clients extensive inpatient operations experience, project management and professional mentoring. Shannon holds an associates’s degree in applied science from Monroe County Community College and she is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Siena Heights University. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA).
Caitlin Fuller RN, BSN, MBAConsultant
Caitlin Fuller RN, BSN, MBA is a consultant for The Nash Group. She is a skilled intensive care practitioner in community and university hospital settings and an experienced private practice clinical manager. She has wide-ranging knowledge in private practice and inpatient scheduling and staffing, staff training and education, and policy development. She assists our clients with inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department services. Caitlin is an established clinical educator and operational researcher. She received her BSN from the University of Iowa and her MBA, with concentrations in Finance and Change & Leadership Management, from DePaul University. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau, Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Pedro ToboApplications Engineer
Pedro Tobo is an application and business tools design engineer for The Nash Group, with over 10 years of experience as a designer, programmer and consultant. He has worked on a large variety of project ranging from development of software frameworks to complete design of applications. He also oversees system integrations and actively participates in all software projects rollouts and support. Pedro holds a degree in System Engineering from the Universidad Piloto de Colombia, is a certified database application developer from Seneca College in Toronto, and is pursuing his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
Amanda Krausz, RN, MSNConsultant
Amanda Krausz, RN, MSN is a consultant for The Nash Group. She is an advance trained and innovative nurse with outstanding interpersonal skills. Her research involves determining how working relationship between staff nurses and management affected staff perception of support. Additionally, she possess broad knowledge on creating policy and clinical practices for community hospitals. Amanda received her BSN and MSN from Bradley University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Illinois Organization for Nurse Leaders.
