This Chicago suburban teaching center implemented SDM 2002™ in June of 1999. Of the $4.1M in savings they reinvested $2.3M back into patient care. Most of this reinvestment was in the CV units where the RN: Patient ratio was changed from a 1:6 ratio to a 1:4 ratio.

This medical center has 2400 employees. None of the employees are unionized.
