David ledersnaider, Ph.D.

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Ledersnaider is the chief executive officer of The Nash Group. With more than 30 years of professional practice as both an educator and consultant, he specializes in operations redesign, information technology deployment and strategic cost management in the healthcare industry. Dr. Ledersnaider has extensive experience in the conception and implementation of hospital-wide re-engineering methods, quality and lean processes, information technology and operational improvement efforts. Prior to his work with The Nash Group, Dr. Ledersnaider was senior administrative director for an 800-bed medical center, where he functioned as chief operating officer with responsibility for all operational improvement activities, the pathology and laboratory medicine division, and equipment processing, distribution and patient escort departments. He also served in the positions of senior director of operational improvement for a 450-bed hospital, internal planning and operational consultant for a 900-bed university medical center, and professor and undergraduate program coordinator of the industrial engineering department at the University de Los Andes, Colombia. Dr. Ledersnaider holds a Ph.D. in industrial & operations engineering and a master’s degree in applied statistics from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor; a Master of Science in operational research from the University of Southampton – England; and a bachelor’s degree of engineering from the University de Los Andes – Colombia. He is an active member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the Society for Health Systems and the American Society for Quality. Dr. Ledersnaider speaks frequently throughout the U.S. and South America on health care, information technology and operational topics; and has written many articles and case studies on hospital operations, patient care workloads, placement and aggregation, staffing plans and top quartile scheduling, economic sizing workload models and simulations, and cost effectiveness healthcare operations.
